Prabhu R
Journey from a welding shop to Infosys

After having lost both his parents, Prabhu had been living with his maternal uncle who was a daily wage labourer. Harbouring a love for studies, Prabhu had always been a studious person, topping his class and scoring the highest marks. Going above and beyond his studies, Prabhu went on to become a district topper in his plus two examinations.

Although he had the grit and determination to succeed, what was holding him back was the financial support. Working at a welding shop, his maternal uncle could not afford to support his nephew and his ambition. Prabhu, having realised his uncle’s dilemma, lost all hopes and was about to give up on his dream.

That is when he came face to face with an Anandham volunteer who understood his situation and offered him full financial support to continue with his higher education.

Currently, Prabhu is an IT Consultant at Infosys. Apart from working towards achieving his dreams, he regularly helps and supports his uncle. An inspiration in the truest sense, Prabhu regularly volunteers at Anandham to give back to society.
Hemalatha
From rural village to IBM …Believing in her dreams

For a girl who did not have money to purchase an engineering application form, getting a call from IBM was nothing short of a dream come true for Hemalatha. One fine morning, when Hemalatha received a call from IBM stating that she was selected, she couldn’t believe her ears.

Being born in a family where her father was incapable of working and the only income came from two milk-rearing cows that her mother took care of, Hemalatha never in her distant dream thought of securing a job at IBM. But, battling the odds, she continued to study and went on to score 1104 marks in her examination.

Anandham understood her condition and sponsored her higher education. Today, we’re proud of supporting an individual who has gone on to become a confident young woman, balancing her life and work effortlessly. She has managed to bring her family out of poverty, and she also regularly volunteers at Anandham and guide other students like her.
Vijayalakshmi
A flower selling girl, blooming in the professional sphere at Accenture

Coming from a humble background, Vijayalakshmi has always excelled in her studies despite financial constraints. While her family’s tight financial condition never allowed her to think beyond selling flowers, she still managed to score 1092 in her plus two examinations.

Getting inspired by her will to learn, Anandham sponsored her education and she successfully completed her course. As of today, she’s placed in Accenture and is doing well for herself and her family.
Sarathkumar
From an Orphanage home to becoming a doctor

From an orphanage to a medical college, life has come full circle for Sarathkumar. Although his parents left him at a very tender age, Sarathkumar never let go of his dreams of becoming a doctor. He was a great student and his hard work paid off as he managed to get an MBBS admission.

When he struggled to retain his admission in the second year, Anandham stepped in and rendered full support to Sarathkumar. We took care of his educational expenses and hostel fees.

His focus and determination have helped him pursue his MBBS dream and become a top scorer in his college.
